1990 MacAlister boots in pony hair

Unfortunately, I read the reviews of these shoes 2 hours after ordering, and called to size down. Was told that nothing could be done and dismissed with the worst customer service that I have ever received. Apparently, it's the customer's responsibility to know that J Crew now lacks the quality control to sell product that is remotely true to size. Good luck with that approach..

I was intrigued by these boots when I saw them online, and then when I was at my local J. Crew store, I saw them in person and had to try them on. These are incredibly well made and comfortable. BUT, they absolutely run one full size large. I'm a 10 D (US) in J. Crew Shoes and Boots, and I bought these in a 9.

I'd seen this shoe in the store and thought it was different. The hair/cow hide is an interesting choice. The deep chocolate color is super luxe looking. It's one of those things that someone looking at them from a distance would think it's just an average desert boot but once they get a better look it'll be ooh's and ahh's. The only negative thing I have to say is if you order them sight unseen, off line, consider sizing down a whole size. I normally wear an 11 and lately at Jcrew it's sometimes down 1/2 a size but with these it's a whole size down and they still aren't remotely tight. But, I like them a lot.
