Icon trench coat

I am so disappointed. I ordered this coat and received one that has no hood, the gun flap is on the wrong side not covering the button closure (rather than storm flaps on each side as in the photo), and shell is made of a cotton/poly blend, not 100% cotton. I don't know if the fabric is water resistant or not. Hoping J Crew can make it right. That said, the coat is well made and fits me fine, if a little long. I'm 5'2", 108 lbs with a slightly long waist and arms for my height and ordered a 2 regular. I do like that it is not too heavy, has an inside pocket, nice lining, hook and eye closure at collar and chain on inside collar for hanging on a hook.

I am so happy I bought this trench coat. It is a perfect length for my 5’3” frame. It hits at my knees. The material is a nice cotton, and the construction is flawless. I’m glad it has a hood. I bought a size 12 and I weigh 150lbs, and this size allows room for me to wear a non bulky sweater under it without it feeling to snug.

I’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on a trench and finally gave in and couldn’t be happier. It looks amazing and fits even better. Solid staple for years to come.

I’m 5’3” 116 ish lbs 33c/25/36 and the 4 regular fits perfectly. I’m normally a xs/2 in jackets. I prefer this icon coat over the new one because I really like the structure of it. And… It has a hood! It’s everything you could want in a trench.

Not a fan. The fabric is water repellant (as a good trench coat should be) but the waist is far too high for me (on my ribs) and the shoulders are sewn narrow. These issues may not be a problem for others, but they were deal breakers for me. I also wish the fabric had been a bit lighter weight and draped a little instead of being so stiff. I wanted this for a spring trench for travel but it was just too heavy and tight in the armpits and shoulders and the waist was just in the wrong spot. I am 5’9”, 145 lbs, lean athletic build with a 34 D chest, and lean but muscular arms and shoulders. I usually wear a size small or 4 (sometimes a 6 for tops depending on the cut and how I want it to fit), and had to size up to an 8 for the shoulders to be comfortable but then it was baggy on the waist (which still was way too high). Other builds will likely have better luck but this is not for me.

So happy with this purchase. I was looking for a jacket I could wear casually or dressed up. Love the color and fit.
