Classic Straight-fit jean in Japanese selvedge denim

Definitely 4 stars at the sale price. Probably 12.5-13.5oz sanforized denim, fit is slightly bigger than 501s with just the right amount of rise, just wish there were 2 more belt loops. Runs bigger in the waist than the non-selvedge classic fit jcrew denim, I own the black and natural classic fit in 34x32, bought these in 33x32 and they're still a little loose (in a good way) but definitely size down unless you want them super loose in the waist. Don't sleep on the sale price, not at the level of other selvedge options but with the deep discount they're worth every penny and I won't feel the need to baby them at all

First off i do not believe these are raw denim, they're just dark wash. Secondly, the smell of these things are terrible. It has a very powerful chemical smell to them. I even washed them and they still smell this way. I'm trying to get a refund now, as theyre basically unwearable. Having said that, if you can deal with the foul odor, the cut is nice! :D

Having owned quite a few pairs of raw selvedge denim in my time, I pulled the trigger on these to see how they were. For the price I paid I figured it was worth it. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the denim. The construction is lacking compared to higher end denim but the fabric is a nice slubby denim with great texture from Nihon Menpu. They are vanity sized by 2+ sizes so order accordingly. They are more rinse than resin but don’t have that awful emerald blue color that a lot of one rinse denim has. Overall I recommend these jeans as a good budget pair.

For starters the description needs to be more clear, these are not raw denim. They are washed I guess that’s what JCrew means by “rinsed” but the smell, what did you rinse them in?!?! Open the packaging and I was instantly overwhelmed with a horrid chemical smell that made me instantly throw them in the wash. Typically I would soak my selvage jeans to get most of the starch out - not necessary due to the initial chemical rinse. Now I know why all sales are final on these, what a total disappointment. They literally stink!

This is my first pair of raw, selvedge jeans and I finally get the hype. The denim feels and looks beautiful, and the construction is top notch. The fit is definitely classic, with a wide opening at the leg. They're like one step bigger than the 1040 pants. I think it looks great, but be aware that these are far from slim fit. These do take some time to break in, but they do get more flexible as you wear them. After about 3 wears they have a lot more movement and I am comfortable doing my day-to-day tasks. Go for it if you can.

These are not straight leg jeans. The taper is a full inch offset from knee to hem. True straight is a rarity anymore I guess….
