Casual sport coat with old school details
April 12, 2023This is a great reinterpretation of J Crew’s popular chore blazer. And unlike their current chore blazer offering (which doesn’t have Long/short sizing and is weirdly proportioned) the fit on this is a dead ringer. Unlike the other reviewer, I actually like the half-belted shirred back, which is a cool 1930’s detail you don’t typically see on modern sport coats. However, I agree that the shirt cuff isn’t quite as nice as the standard blazer buttons and is a bit wide and a billowy. But overall this is a versatile hybrid sport coat/chore coat offering that I’ve already worn a ton. Would love to see this in more earth tones like a mahogany brown.

Not the chore blazer I used to know.
April 1, 2023This chore blazer used to be one of my go-to items, and I looked forward to findingnew colors to add to my wardrobe. Now it’s been re-styled and looks completely different. The cuff has a single button (as opposed to three on the previous version, which made it look more like a blazer), the back is gusseted with a weird belted look. It’s just not the same, and I’d never buy it again in this style. Disappointed in the new direction J. Crew has gone.
