Marie Marot X J.Crew tie-waist shirt-dress in Thomas Mason® cotton poplin

Great material and great fit.

I live in Greece and wear this kind of shirt dresses from March to November, with exception of peak of the summer. I have quite a collection of them, many from J Crew. I bought this one for its clean, classic style. I like the pristine white collar and large cuffs. These are definitely the highlights of this dress. Everything else is just like any other poplin shirt dress. I think the dress runs slightly large. For me the upper part was definitely oversized, but if I would have gotten a smaller size, the dress would have been too tight over the hips. The material is light cotton poplin, perfect for hot days and the dress is not lined (and does not need to be). There is a small embroidered emblem on one of the cuffs and the slits make it fun and summery. I plan to wear it with a navy long jacket with large white polka dots. The price is a bit steep for what you get, so if you get it on sale, go for it!
