Lodge coat in Italian stadium-cloth wool

Writing this review 2 years later~ This coat is very warm for the end-of-fall, start of winter look before the puffy long coats make its debut. I live in NYC & I can tell you, it keeps me warm (with normal layering) when the temps drops from 50 degrees to 35 (which is the temp I’ll still wear this coat in, anything lower, my puffy coats are coming out & this is going into storage for the season lol) Love that this has an inside pocket; I wish it had another inside pocket on the other side of the chest. I originally purchased this in a 2 as my measurements matched the chart. However, it was super tight & with just wearing a top inside, while I could zip, the arms & shoulders were restricting. I end up exchanging for a 4 and it was doable. At first, it was tight on top, but after a few wears, I think it stretched out, because now I can zip up all the way and don’t feel restricted as I did a few years back. My only complaint is, when zipped up, I the neck material is a bit scratchy.

I'm normally a 0 in JC coats. I'm so glad I read the reviews and sized up. Even the 2 is a little more fitted than I'd prefer. It will pass but I won't be able to wear bulky sweaters underneath.

I realized I didn't have a grown-up coat. I have been eying the lodge and cocoon coat for years and this was apparently my year to purchase both of them! OMG! I love this coat. I purchased the camel color. For reference, I am normally a Jcrew 14, but after reading other reviews I did size up to an 18, and I am glad I did. The coat fits great. In-person, the coat looks just like what the model has on. Great arm length. I do think it is slightly large in the arm area but thats okay if I decide to wear a chunky sweater. It appears to be very warm. This is a great coat to own.

I'm usually a size 0 but had to get a size 2 in order to be comfortable when wearing a thick sweater underneath. It is warn enough to handle the Ohio winter and pairs well with a lot of styles.

I’ve been wanting a jacket from jcrew like this one for so long and I finally broke down and bought one. The quality of this jacket is amazing. Beautifully made and looks great with dress clothes or sneakers. The only thing is to me it runs about 2 sizes small. I wanted a jacket that would fit great over a sweater and I can’t wear anything bulky under this or it feels constricted in the arms. Overall, I do love the jacket and will be keeping it.

I was so hoping that this was going to be a wise decision, read all the reviews and chose carefully, not careful enough I guess. The sleeves are long and the cuff will make altering very difficult. The neck has a knit liner like cuffs, but the liner has power over the funnel wool coat collar which makes the collar look dented in. The chest is small, the body hip area bigger. the shoulders are wide, so don't know how to put all this together for a proper normal fit. Odd and so very disappointed,I am guessing if this 12 Reg fits like this a 14 Petite might work, but also may be just to short, I am 5'4" I wear a Large or a 12, I bought the 12P in the factory city coat ( supposedly same style with out knit cuffs and collar)and had a decent fit. I would have to say, its not me but sizing errors with this one. I am a proportioned straight 12, throughout. This fit like a 10 on top and a 12 on bottom. Except for wide shoulders. thin arms. WOW
