Abingdon messenger bag

It's a nice bag with quality hardware. It's a little smaller than I expected, but large enough to hold a laptop in a sleeve, a notebook, and a few other items. The only real problem I had with the bag is the strap, it's way too long. I'm 5' 11" and with the strap cinched up to the shortest length the bag hung almost at my knees. I had to slice open the stitches at the leather attaching to the brass clip, take eight inches off the length of the strap, and stitch the whole thing back together. Another pandemic project.

Cheaply made. Straps not real. The handle is made of the saddest thin strip of scrap leather I've ever seen. As that handle is perhaps the most frequent "touch point" of the bag, one is repeatedly reminded just how cheap and sad the bag is. This is an example of a product that isn't worth selling because it degrades the impression of the whole brand. If J Crew can't make a messenger bag worth having, best not to make it at all.

Got this as a gift for my husband. He loves it! Great quality and style.
