High-rise '90s classic straight carpenter jean in natural

These wash well, look fabulous on, don’t stretch throughout the day, and you can dress them up or down. These are the best pants I’ve ever bought at J.Crew and I’m a lifelong jcrew Shopper. Please bring them back!

I was looking for a great pair of straight leg ankle-length pants, and was so excited to find these! They are so cute and fit perfectly around my hips and legs, however the waist was HUGE. I wanted to size down but that size wasn't available at the time, and I think the waist still would have been too big. I took them to a tailor to have the waist taken in, so then they will be perfect! Looking forward to wearing these this winter and buying more of the 90's style jeans!

Truly classic jeans! Love the high-rise fit and heavy material.

I will wear these all winter and summer. They are slightly tight in the waist, but I think that is just me. They go with anything and everything and I’m in love with these pants!

I saw these on Brie Welch and thought they were really cute. Then I read some of the other reviews and was even more intrigued. I first ordered these in a 27, as that’s what the size guide suggested. When I received them I found them to fit smoothly but not too snug. They were a little loose around the waist, but I appreciate that as I’ve gotten older. The color was a bit more of a cream than what I expected, which I wasn’t sure about. However, after combing through my closet I realized I had plenty of tops that looked great with them. I did order these in a size 26 (my usual size), which were quite snug, but since these are 100% cotton I decided to stick with the size 27. I’m a bit on the short side (5’2”) and the length on these is great. I can wear them cuffed to show off my shoes, or un-cuffed if I’m wearing boots. Another great pair of jeans to add to my collection!

These are baggy and they don't fit as slim as other Jcrew jeans. But some of you might like this look, so here's more info about them: They are baggy in the thigh and butt area. These flatten your butt in a way I've never seen before in other jeans. I think that's by design because these are carpenter pants. I lived in carpenter pants in the early 80's but they were much thinner, softer and more conforming to my body. These Jcrew painter pants are sturdier and looser. The cotton is fabulous. I normally wear a size 28 in Jcrew jeans. Last pair I bought a month ago has the exact same dimensions as these Carpenter pants but they fit much tighter, a little loose on me, but much tighter. I'm returning these but thinking about going down a size. I'm 5' 5" `128 pounds, straight with thicker waist. (The waist on these were slightly big, where other Jcrew jeans have slightly small waists.)
