What customers are saying:
Overall, customers really appreciate the classic, army-inspired vibe of these pants along with their soft, high-quality cotton feel that makes them both comfortable and versatile. Many rave about the flattering, relaxed cut and how well they work for everything from casual days out to smart-casual work settings. There's plenty of fun energy about the bright and varied color options that add a retro twist to the design. While some suggest considering your usual size for the best fit, the overall response is that these pants are a stylish and dependable wardrobe staple.

poor dying process
April 22, 2022These pants were purchased in the winter and then put away until warmer weather. Now they've been washed once, and they came out looking like bleach had been splashed on them. There is something wrong with the dying process. Garment-dying is supposed to fade evenly, not this way. A very disappointing product.

Sadly, defective--do not buy!!
February 23, 2022When I washed these pants (cool water, gentle detergent, gentle cycle, no bleach or other additives), the color washed out in weird places. They are now completely unwearable. Customer service would not accept a return because they had been washed and it was past the return window. I had tried them on when I received them and thought they were fine, so I didn't return them right away--there was no way to know they were defective until I had worn and washed them. Very disappointing. So, don't buy them if you ever plan to wash them, sadly!

More nearly perfect than anticipated
February 9, 2022Wearer's vital stats: 5'2", 130 lbs, 31" waist, 37" hips. Pants' vital stats: size 4, navy, classic fit, on final sale. Waffled over whether to purchase size 2 or 4, and probably made the right choice. Fit is perfect in the hip, close but not constricting, and delightfully baggy through the thigh for ease of movement. The cuffs just brush the ground at the heel standing barefoot. The loose waist will slide way down to mid rise if not belted, however. The creases of the lapped outseams face forward, which feels unusual but is not very noticeable. Front and back pockets are deep and sturdy. Fabric is a thick canvas-y coarse weave that is nearly soft enough for sleep pants and nearly rugged enough for work pants (which is not to say one could not sleep or work in these, if one wished. One could. One almost certainly will). The color is a self-effacing dark navy.

Fits Well
January 7, 2022I’m 5’6 and 112 pounds, I brought Size 0 in navy and it fits perfectly. Could buy a size 2 so it will drop a bit on my waist. Very comfortable pants and hope it won’t shrink after washing.

Runs super small
January 1, 2022My New Years wish is for J.Crew to figure out how to make pant sizing uniform across all of their pants. Why is it that I bought 2 different pair of pants (these & some jeans) in the same size but these are WAY too small.
