Classic denim jacket

From all the reviews I was nervous about ordering the wrong size. I normally wear a size 2 in J. Crew coats & jackets so went with my usual size Small. I am 5"5" 120lbs. As many reviewers stated it does run a bit on the small side / While it's not particularly roomy in a size Small I do like the way it looks, kind of fitted, so I am keeping the size small. The sleeves are also on the shorter side but work just fine for me and also look cute rolled up a bit. I am happy with this purchase overall. I had debated which was to get, but glad I went with this one as it had more reviews - it's a classic and perfect for spring.

I am 5'1" about 150 lbs. I have a short torso and a medium-large size chest. I ordered this jacket in both Medium and Large because I wasn't sure which size would fit me best. They both fit fine, but the Large gave me more room in the arms and shoulders and had a slightly looser fit. I prefer this type of fit so that I can wear a sweater or a few layers underneath and have a little bit of room for shrinkage in the wash, so I went with the Large. If I had preferred a more fitted look and only wanted to wear with lighter shirts, then I would have stuck with the Medium. Overall, I would say true to size. I love the wash and the copper buttons, and the denim is pretty soft, not stiff. This definitely gives a "classic" denim jacket look!

Was looking for a slightly cropped denim jacket that was less boxy; this was exactly what I was looking for so I ordered. Unfortunately, the sleeves are very, very short. The cuffs were 4 inches away from my wrists! The body of the jacket was a perfect fit. I normally wear 8-10 or Medium on top. I did read that the fit ran small so I ordered up. To be honest, I feel like the pattern in the factory may have gotten mixed up as the body is a perfect medium and not a large and the arms are maybe a petite medium. Overall, the cut of the body and sleeve width are perfect, however the sleeve length is too short.

I'll use this all year and it will look good with summer or winter things. I actually have the exact same jacket but ordered this one thinking it might be a lighter wash. It turned out to be exactly the one I already have. I have a few denim jackets and they are great with just about anything--jeans, white jeans, khakis, pencil skirts, full skirts, dresses, etc, etc... Sometimes I just want it over my shoulders to keep me warm and it looks good that way,too. Took me forever to get the buttons unbuttoned the first time, as the buttonholes are very snug, but I hardly ever button a jeans jacket anyway. Great jacket.

I had a strange experience with this jacket. I ordered an XS (my normal size in J. Crew) and it was incredibly tight. To the point where it was uncomfortable to bend my arms tight. So I went to a store to see if a small fit any better. Like most J.Crew clothes (for me at least), the small was too big. Before I gave up and returned it, I tried on a XS they had in store and surprisingly, it fit perfectly. With all of that to say, I do really like the style of the jacket. So if you have an odd experience with sizing, try on another jacket in your normal size and you may have the same experience I had.
