This velvet is dreamy!
February 16, 2021Love this shirt - fit on this gem is spot on as usual (jcrew is so often perfectly consistent in their sizing - i can almost always count on a perfect fit in every xl shirt ive purchased!!!) This gorgeous velvet shirt is both casual and dressy, with a delicious lush feeling on. I wish they had other colors to chose from, i would buy them all. Only minor dig is that the color received is much darker than the photo advertised, it looked like a golden olive online but is in actuality a verrrry dark olive with no gold-ness to it at all. I would have loved it to be the lighter gold/olive shown in photo, but considering i probably wouldn't have purchased it if i had known how dark green it was, it ended up being a happy mistake as i will gladly keep and enjoy anyway.

December 4, 2020I was worried about this top not fitting me since other J Crew button up shirts tend to run pretty small in the shoulders, but the 2 fit perfectly! I typically wear an XS top, but sized up to a 2, so I'd say it runs a bit small in the shoulders, but not as much as the denim button up did. The body of the shirt is spot on and not too big or long. Well, it's a little long on me, but that would be a good fit on a normal sized human...I'm 5-1". The velvet is so lovely and can be either dressy or cool casual. The olive color isn't as gold as in the picture. It's a bit more olive/yellow, but it's beautiful. I was so excited at how this shirt looked and felt, that I popped back on and ordered the blue this morning too!

Luxurious and understated
November 16, 2020I bought the mossy green velvet button up shirt. I am full busted and usually have to wear a size 18 in JCrew. I normally where a 16 shirt in other brands. This velvet is rich and luxurious, looks great buttoned up or open with a tank or cami underneath. I think it is well constructed and needs to be in everyone's closet. I am waiting for the blue to come back in stock in my size. I paired mine with black skinny jeans and boots. Wonderful piece that you can wear 3 seasons.

November 12, 2020This shirt looks better in person. Love the fit. Usually wear a size 10 or 12 in shirts. Ordered a 12 and it fit perfectly. Will use a lot this season.
