I would say my styling vibe is aspirational yet attainable, and errs on an easy, cool mood. I’m not very fussy.

I feel most creative after having witnessed something beautiful—could be a film or dance performance. Or when I’m reading and an unknown expression sends me down a research hole and creates a wonderful spiral of ideas.

Ask a stylist:All about fall denimBrie fields a few great questions from our @jcrew followers…
Q: What’s the “dressy” jean this season?BW: I love high-waisted, structured dark denim—almost a raw denim look. That feels very fresh and cool for fall, and similar to a trouser. Elevating, but casual and comfortable.
Q: How do I style the straight-leg jeans I’m seeing everywhere?BW: My fail-safe outfit is a tucked-in, fitted T-shirt with a belt and loafers. You can’t go wrong with that.
(Or you could try any of the three outfits Brie wore on the streets of NYC!)

Q: Best shoe to wear with loose boyfriend denim?BW: A flat shoe, like a loafer or Mary Jane, to counter that relaxed fit.
Q: Double denim still a thing? BW: Forever! I like wearing a denim jacket with jeans in the same tonal family, but not a perfect match. Or I wear a lighter-wash denim shirt with darker bottoms.
Q: Best way to style plus-size denim for a business-casual look?BW: Denim will inherently be casual based off of its roots, so anything you can add like an elegant turtleneck, structured blazer or classic leather belt instantly elevates. I wouldn’t wear sneakers—maybe a loafer or flat like the fisherman sandal I wore.

I started dancing when I was three—ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop. It’s the thing I’m always able to connect with, no matter the style or my age.
