Exactly the jacket I have been looking for
November 24, 2021I bought the duck canvas shirt jacket last year and thought it would be so much better if it had hand warmer pockets (the should be the distinction between a shirt jacket and an over-shirt, whether or not it has pockets). So when I saw this version was lined and had a corduroy collar I wanted to get one but was still disappointed it wouldn’t have pockets. But I just received it and to my surprise, IT HAS POCKETS!!! And not only that, it has Primaloft insulation. Not a ton, but some is good under the flannel lining. The description online really undersells this jacket. I’m about 6’5” and wear a 42L and the large fits well. An inch or two longer in the body would be nice or a shirt-tail hem would be the only improvements to make. The website description undersells this jacket. Grab one while they last.

Upgrade from last year's model
November 20, 2021J.crew offered this product last year with a sherpa instead of flannel lining. Having bought both products, I can clearly see J.crew listened to the customers and made improvements on this version. For example, the corduroy collar covers both the inside and outside of the collar now. The flannel lining gets rid of a lot of the bulk. Also, WE GOT SIDE HAND POCKETS!!! Thank you!

Beautiful, Comfortable, Oversized
November 20, 2021I bought the roasted cider and it's absolutely beautiful. But I ordered a Large and it fits much more like an XL. I am 6'1", 190 pounds, fairly muscular. I was not expecting this to be so large. If I'm wearing a thick flannel shirt, then *maybe* it will fit well, but over a t shirt or regular button-down, it's just too large. However, I like it so much, I might just keep the Large and buy a Medium, too.

Go to fall jacket
November 9, 2021More jacket than shirt with a great work wear style. Duck cloth is soft with a medium weight. Add a locker loop and it would be perfect.

Roasted Cider is my new [fall] favorite color!!
October 27, 2021I purchased the same Wallace & Barnes shirt jacket last Fall (2020). That shirt jacket is lined with sherpa and the same roasted cider color is great! However, the new WB flannel lined shirt jacket in roasted cider is BETTER! The fit is perfect - "fits like a glove!" The plaid flannel lining is handsome. The roasted cider color is deeper, a bit darker this season. The construction is superb and the high quality (duck canvas) fabric is fantastic. It's rich, handsome and functional!
