What customers are saying:
Many customers agreed that the garment is comfortable and versatile right out of the bag. However, several customers suggested being cautious with the wash as many experienced noticeable shrinkage after laundering, which affected the intended fit. A few customers mentioned that, to maintain the ideal look, opting for a size up or adjusting the drying method could be beneficial. Overall, the piece is loved for its soft, active fabric and easy movement when cared for properly.

Shrunk
February 24, 2022Upon purchasing this knit shirt, it was true to size and I thought it was a perfect fit. Once I washed it, it shrunk to a ridiculously small size. I can't even wear it now. Real shame for the money paid for it.

Bulky Details, Too Much Shrinkage
February 14, 2022Bought this as a top layer for spring, figuring I could layer up to 2 shirts under it per the catalog models as I am more svelt than average. Disappointed at the sheer bulk of the cuffs – they're disproportionately big to the sleeve circumference. Also at the check pocket closure flap. If buying would recommend purchasing a size up if you plan to machine dry, or dry flat if you want to keep size. Not much attention paid to detail with this garment's design.

Me three. Also shrank but not in right way.
January 30, 2022Ordered a M according to size guide and it was wayyyy too boxy and big. Had to fold up the sleeve to get it up to my wrists. The hem of the shirt was way too long. The chest is so wide and boxy that it looks likes I have wings when I spread my arms out. I wish I had lats like that, but it's way too much fabric at armpits. The quilted cotton fabric is very soft to the touch. However, there is no structure though, so it droops and sags. I put it in the washing machine (cold) and dryer (low). It came out shrunken which was positive and desired, but the arms are now too short and hem is too short at the waist. But still way too wide and boxy under the arm - that portion did not shrink nearly as much as the others. Don't buy this shirt. It looks cool and is very soft, but the fit is terrible. Way larger than advertised and will shrink excessively.

Mine shrank too
January 25, 2022Was super disappointed when mine also shrank after laundering according to the instructions. For me, it shrank about a size on the smaller side. Otherwise, this shirt is really comfortable and of good quality. I do have higher expectations of J.Crew, and am disappointed at where the quality has headed after being a customer since the 90s.

SHRINKS TO FIT MY 3 YEAR OLD SON
January 21, 2022This fit well out of the bag, threw it in the wash as instructed on the label (cold water, dry on low) and it came out so shrunken I could not even button it up! Such poor quality from J. Crew, I've tried and tried to give you a chance again (customer since the late 1980s!) but its really unacceptable; if the fabric shrinks this much, you should prewash it before cut/sewn! Of course it's sold out now so cannot be exchanged/replaced.

Warm, easy to move in, and looks great
December 28, 2021I really like the way this piece fits and looks. It’s easy to move around in and would be a great choice for an active person. I only have have one minor critique. The thickness of the fabric allows for the buttons to come undone fairly easily, so I will have to occasionally redo some of them throughout the day.
