First Budget Boot
February 2, 2022I was excited to order and receive these boots sub 100. Unfortunately, the box arrived damaged. The sides and corners of the box were torn and damaged most likely due to being tried on and mishandled at the store. Inside the box, one of the boot laces were undone completely instead of neatly tied up like the other. There were clear and visual blemishes on both boots. Visible creases and physical indentations/marking can be seen on both boots running along the side if put under a bit of light. There are clear scratches on both boots you can see and feel.

incredible value at sale price
January 19, 2022not a boots aficionado but found these on a deal for < $100 and could not resist. they feel like boots > 3x the price. took a little to break in but now are comfortable. the sole is rugged can handle many conditions, however the style of the boot is very versatile and can be dressed up or down as needed. overall 5/5 for the price I paid for it note that these boots do not adhere to the "size down" principle - I got a half size down from my normal size as thats all that was available. they are a little tight but fine overall as they break in, but would not assume to size down if they come back on the market.

A great boot for the price
October 1, 2021The latest edition of these boots is a very impressive step forward compared to the previous one. Everything is much better. As stated in the description, the leather is Horween CXL, both soft and resilient, with an amazing color and patina potential. The lining is also glove-like, super smooth to the touch. The welt is more defined and contrast is more clear. The sole is thicker, and not stitched-through, but not too thick and does not overwhelm the look. The boots, as before, are both dressy and work-like. Given the sole, I would see less use in dressy situations and more outdoors. They are not heavy at all, and are comfortable out of the box. So far, they seem on par with the other boots I have in the same price range. Finally, the presentation is also outstanding, with some nice touches in the box. All in all, a very nice boot indeed.

Mine are 8 years old. Buy them!
August 30, 2021I wear mine almost daily and they are about 8 years old now. I have polished them maybe twice. Mine have laces from some old hiking boots and they’re not quitting any time soon. It looks like they’ve changed a few things about them—they are now apparently a storm welt vs bench, and a vibram outsole, and limited color options. Mine have some torn spots and the insides are basically in ribbons from frequent and hard wear, but they are as comfortable as ever and they look great, even though they’re beat up. I have bought two other [more expensive, renowned USA shoe brands] pairs of boots in the time I’ve owned these, and neither has stood up to the wear and tear of these. I am thoroughly surprised/impressed, and I am delighted to pull them on every morning. Please buy these and keep them in JCrew’s catalog so they are still available when I finally need a new pair. I have worn them hiking, renovating our house, across Europe and Japan, in weddings, at work, at school, on dates, etc.
