Our Daphne topcoat is made in a super-cozy boiled wool (translation: it's tightly woven for major warmth and less bulk) made for us by Italy's Manifattura di Carmignano mill, known the world over for its exceptional woolen fabrics. This time around, we perfected the best-selling style with neat, finished edges.

A must have
April 5, 2023I purchased the white color. I love this coat! It is very given and can go with almost everything. I love the 100% wool. The only issue I have is I wish the fabric can be thicker. The front part of this coat has double layers but the back is single layer. So the back is a little see-through. But it is not a deal breaker. And I still love it. The other colors should have no problem.

March 21, 2023I rarely write reviews, but I had to on this one! I have extremely broad shoulder and overall athletic build, so even two size bigger blazers don't fit me and all structured coats are nightmare! Since I loved the pure wool fabric, I gave this one try and got my normal size 2. ( size 4 or 6 blazers don't fit me) It's a perfect fit, think of it as an extra heavy sweater coat. The cream color is beautiful, looks classy, fabric and cut is perfection. I am short at 5'2 and find most J.crew sleeves long, this coat fit me perfectly! I am sensitive to wool, this one is about 10% itchy, nothing that can't get used to. Will try fabric softener later. Super soft wool! Probably not your super serious winter coat, more like transitional lightweight layer, perfect for Bay Area :) Love, love, love!

March 15, 2023What a disappointment NOT 100% WOOL after buying as ‘FINAL SALE’. I love boiled wool. This is a let down on so many levels. I purchased 2 sizes up as reg size not available and reviews varied from too small AND too big. It did fit oversized but in a good way. It is scratchy which isn’t a problem for me with boiled wool but sometimes with other 100% wool, however bearable. This quality is poor as it’s more like a sweatshirt and a scratchy one at that. Thumbs down JCrew, way, way down!
