Collection fringe-trim sheath dress in sequin

I bought this for New Year’s Eve abroad, and upon trying it on it is incredibly flattering with the right undergarments. I cannot wait to dance the night away and anticipate wearing this for future special occasions, as well. I figured that this dress would sell out and I was correct! I did size up based upon the reviews, and that worked out perfectly

I had been eyeing this dress for a while and finally took the plunge. I wear 6-8 in J Crew, so I ordered an 8 since reviews said this runs small. It does. The 8 just fit, but highlighted my belly in an unflattering way. I also found the armholes to be cut very large, so there was some side-boob/bra-showing potential. Dress was not as heavy as I thought it might be with the sequins, but I did find the sequins rubbed me somewhat under the arms. Had I purchased this on sale, with my pre-COVID, flatter belly, I would have kept it, but this doesn't work well enough now and is going back.

Looove this dress. I’ve always wanted a black sequin dress and this one feels classic and transported through time à la Midnights in Paris. I’m 5’4 and it runs a little long, am also typically a size 4/6 but size up to a size 8 in sheath/the resume dress which I did for this one. I took one star off mostly for sizing but the quality is otherwise impeccable.

This dress is even better in person. Great quality, super fun fringe, excellent design in all the best JCrew ways. HOWEVER - IT IS CRAZY SMALL! I normally wear a JCrew 6 or 8 and usually have some room to spare in an 8. I ordered the 8 before reading the prior reviews, but thought I would try it anyway, since 8s are usually generous on me. NOPE. This 8 definitely hugs my hips (as in you can see my underwear outline through the sequins), and I can't even zip it over my bust. Unfortunately, I bought it as a final sale, and can't return it, which is a shame, since this is clearly a fit issue with this dress and not just a customer not liking what they ordered. Buy this dress, but DEFINTELY order up a size or even two if you don't want the world to know what underwear you are wearing.

Ordered this in white for a Gatsby themed fundraiser dance. It's so fun and the fringe really swings. I did find it a bit snug. I'm 127lbs, 5'6" 34b. My dress size range is 2-4. I usually take a 2 in slip dresses or the resume dress . I size up to a four in anything body conscious or form fitting. This dress is a sheath so I ordered a 2. The 2 is bit a more of a snug fit on me than on the models online. I can wear it but I probably should have ordered a size up. Also in the white it may appear a bit less forgiving than black, but I couldn't resist the sale price. It's a great dress,I just better not gain three pounds.
